Mulberry UTC judged ‘good’ in first Ofsted inspection

“Pupils particularly enjoy their learning in the work-related courses. Pupils get many opportunities to experience the world of work in these areas. The majority progress to further education, apprenticeships or paid work in these fields.” Ofsted

We are delighted to be able to announce the publication of our first Ofsted report.

Mulberry UTC is a new school that opened in September 2017. Ofsted commended the work of the school in a number of key areas, resulting in a strong ‘good’ judgement across the board. The inspectors visited the school in March, shortly before we were required to close the building.

The inspectors were particularly impressed by the motivation of our students, their excellent behaviour and their positive attitudes to learning. The students who met the inspectors were excellent ambassadors for the school and we are extremely proud of how well all students conducted themselves during the course of the inspection.

We hope that you will enjoy reading the report. It is a testament to the hard work of all of our staff and students and the fantastic support we receive from the local community, our students’ families and our employer and university partners.

Access a PDF copy of the report here or visit the Ofsted website here.

“Leaders provide a range of specialist subjects that engage pupils and prepare them well for future employment.” Ofsted

“Pupils in the sixth form achieve particularly strongly in the specialist courses, for example health and social care.” Ofsted
